Christian Björkman
“The 3D Internet for Health and Education”
Christian has degrees from Lund University, School of Law and San Diego State University, School of Business. Previously he was the founder and Managing Director or Center of Visualization in Göteborg, Sweden, an organization focusing on promoting growth within the digital visualization sector. In 2007 he started at MindArk as Director of Special Projects, handling contacts with governments, universities and global corporations. Since 2009 he is Chief Marketing Officer at MindArk, responsible for the expansion of the virtual world and online game platform - Entropia Platform.
Björn Vickhoff
“Music and rehabilitation”
Björn was a professional singer-songwriter, until the interest of why music moves us physically and emotionally, took over. He wrote a dissertation in musicology about music perception and emotion. Today he is a researcher at Cerebral Brain Repair at Gothenburg University Hospital.
Filipe Balestra
“Healthy Processes in Architecture”
Born Rio de Janeiro, 1981. Architect. Masters from the Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm, co-founder of the creative platform Urban Nouveau.
Anna Roxvall
“Where there are no doctors who deliver”
Anna Roxvall is a journalist in Stockholm. She's currently working on the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet. Usually, she is freelancing around the world along with freelance photographer Johan Persson from Gothenburg. Together they have has worked in Congo, Kenya, Cameroon, USA and Hungary.
She will talk about how doctors' lack in the world's poorest countries have forced new ways of reducing maternal mortality and achieving the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
Anders Ynnerman
“Inside Information – Visualizing the interior of the human body”
Professor Anders Ynnerman received a Ph.D. in physics from Gothenburg University. During the early 90s he was doing research at Oxford University, UK, and Vanderbilt University, USA. From 1997 to 2002 he directed the Swedish National Supercomputer Centre and from 2002 to 2006 he directed the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC). Since 1999 he has held a chair in scientific visualization and is the director of the Norrköping Visualization Center – C. He is also one of the co-founders of the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV).
Ynnerman is a member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences and a board member of the Swedish Research Council. In 2007 Ynnerman was awarded the Akzo Nobel Science award and the Golden Mouse award for Swedish IT-person of the year.
Gustav Gredebäck
“The mirror neuron system, understanding others as oneself?”
Gustaf Gredebäck is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, Uppsala University where he manages the Uppsala Babylab.
His research span several topics including occulomotor development, social cognition, and object representations in infancy. Central to his research
is the active infant, that perceive, interpret, and interact with his/her physical and social environment in a goal directed and future oriented manner.
Lindha Kallerdahl
“To find it to hold it and to let it go”
Lindha Kallerdahl is a singer and composer who early came in touch with free music and has made successful collaborations with for example Lotte Anker, Joakim Milder, William Parker, Christophe Studer, Sonic Youth, Ikue Mori and Okkyung Lee. She will be singing, talking and make sounds for you, remind you of the joy that occurs when we let all go and follow the flow of music and heart.
Karin Jonson
“Kakbank- cookies and microcredits”
Karin is a member of Kakbank Gothenburg. Kakbank, The Cookie Bank, is the sweetest bank in the world! We hook up once a month and eat cookies and invest in microcredits in developing countries. That makes us and the world a little happier! Kakbank is not only good for people far away - it benefits us too. The discussions regarding the projects, the cakes and the shared laughter is an important part of what Kakbank is. Kakbank is a do-it-yourself charity funded in spring 2007 by Peter Kelly, in Gothenburg, Sweden.
