Per Espen Stoknes - How to use regenerative energy sources for a sunny future
Stoknes is an author, entrepreneur, psychologist, economist, business manager, Green-party politician and Senior Lecturer at BI Norwegian Business School. He has been creating efficient strategies based on different energy-scenarios for over 20 years in which the most recent involves a calculation for how 9 billion people can enjoy a high-quality life using solar and wind power.
Stoknes interest for eco-philosophy, which later became eco-psychology, started during his years at the University of Oslo where his biggest influence was the Norwegian philosopher Arne Naess – famous for the term ecosophy. Today Stoknes is an eco-psychologist himself, and has written several essays, held numerous talks and published multiple books on the subject. What We Think About When We Try Not to Think About Global Warming: Toward a New Psychology of Climate Action is his most recent and prominent text.
Stoknes will talk at TEDxGlobal in New York this September and TEDxGöteborg in October. At Brave New World Stoknes will tell us how we can solve the main climate issues in three simple steps. Join TEDxGöteborg on Oct 23 to hear how!
