Maria Källsson, CEO of Bok och Biblioteksmässan, the book and library trade fair, in Gothenburg, is shocked to see how the social tone of public society has changed over the last year. She has worked at the trade fair for five years, but this year witnessed a remarkable change in how people relate to each other.
Maria's hunch is that due to everyone being their own publicist, views are pushed out incredibly fast, and the time for proper information and contemplation is lost. This leads to an aggressive climate of clashing views. The solution must be to meet and talk; to take time for listening to varying perspectives, to discuss and to test your own arguments again. When we do this we discover that our views are not all that far apart.
