Dale Carnegie

TEDxGöteborg is partnering up with Dale Carnegie!

TEDx is all about spreading ideas. In order to keep doing that we need partners who share our beliefs to help us. Dale Carniege came our way and now we are a thing.

We met up with Nicklas Gustafsson, partner at Dale Carnegie, to talk about TEDx, passion, the difference between proving yourself and improving yourself. Nicklas also shared his favourite TED-talks with us.

For over a century, Dale Carnegie has been improving individual and business performance around the world. While their training techniques continue to evolve, their core principles remain true to a single vision: real transformation begins within.

Why is TEDx and Dale Carnegie a great fit?

I think our promises to the world is a perfect fit. TED is all about “Ideas worth spreading” and at Dale Carnegie we’re big fans of lifelong learning. We see your spark. We see the inherent abilities hidden within you and help you with the hard stuff – the things that intimidate you, that hold you back, the skills that really matter.

The best ideas a given first criteria for lifelong learning but we all remember the cool kids in school with a great load of self-confidence who (too) often filled the room and silenced a bunch of other kids who could’ve contributed but didn’t. Us working together will make sure that the best ideas is spread in the best way they can be.

What is Dale Carnegie’s mission?

At Dale Carnegie, we help people from all walks of life become fearless. Whether they’re starting out or stepping up, learning to lead or heading up a team, we sharpen their inner voice so they can use it with confidence to get the most out of their life and their work.

Our programs show people how to communicate in a way that draws others in so they can form closer, more rewarding relationships in their personal and professional lives. As they gain greater influence with the people around them, they’ll come face to face with more opportunities to make meaningful contributions in the places that matter most

What ideas are Dale Carnegie, as an organization, passionate about spreading?

Of course we want to spread the idea of life-long learning. You are never done. A lot of people, myself included of course, are pretty busy with proving ourselves. Constantly seeking the approval from those around us. What we should do, more often and consciously, is improve ourselves and give honest and sincere appreciation to ourselves instead.

Improving is not an easy thing. It can be rough sometimes but it can’t be comfortable to grow. We believe that growth and comfort cannot co-exist. We’re spreading ideas every day and the ideas that we are most passionate about spreading is the human relations principles that Dale Carnegie wrote back in 1936.
